She Loves to Give

Recently I have seen Annagrace develop the love of giving. Her older sister, Lauren, is very much that way. It has just been since Christmas, however, that I have noticed Annagrace really thinking about what she can give to others. She gets very concerned if someone in our family is having a birthday and she can't figure out something to give them. She starts looking through her own things to pick something out to give. This morning she put together a gift for Gabriel's birthday and decorated the sack for it to go in. She worked hard on this, and I am so super proud of her.

Her Play Dough Creation

My sweet Annagrace likes to look at my pictures from my trip to Amish country. We have a special book we read together about the Amish way of life. It is "Just Like Mama" by Beverly Lewis. It is a sweet story about a little girl who wants to be just like her Mama. In the end she and her Mama decide they will both try to be more like the Lord Jesus together.

Well, it put a smile on my face when Annagrace came up to show me her play dough creation and told me she had made an Amish lady. How cute! One day I would love to take my Annagrace to see the beautiful Amish country with me.

One More Reformation Day Picture.........

I somehow missed this one and cannot leave it out. I love this precious picture of Anangrace, I mean Ms Patty Cake. I tell you, she is a very sweet spot in our family. She tries very hard to obey and be helpful and for the most part makes mature decisions. I am so thankful for the SWEETNESS she brings to our whole family. Earlier this week Annagrace had the excitement of going on a date with her Daddy. He explained to her that one day a young man will want to take her out, but he MUST go to her daddy and have a talk first. Her daddy plans to protect her and guide her through that process much later on down the road. :)

Happy Fifth Birthday!

It has been a very long time since I posted anything on this blog. Life has been very busy, my camera has been broken, and I just have not gotten around to it. I could not, however, fail to blog about my sweetie's purple birthday party. This little girl LOVES purple! Her nursery was the prettiest purple when she was brought home from the hospital. I think I did soooo much pink with my first girl that it was fun to do a lot of purple with my second. Is that why she LOVES purple??? I don't know, but we had a lot of fun with this color themed birthday party. My sweet first born made the beautiful cupcakes and decorated the party room entirely by herself. As you can see we had everything from purple Kool Aid to purple candy. We even all wore purple clothing. It was very PURPLE and very fun. Happy fifth birthday to our sweet Annagrace!

Strawberry Shortcake

Lauren loves an opportunity to crochet gifts. She made Annagrace a Strawberry Shortcake.

She was a happy girl!

Even Daddy played pin the jewel on the tiarra.

Annagrace is a sweetie. See Lilly Faith in the background?

A "Berry Special" party for a "Berry Special" girl. :) I cannot believe she is four.

Happy Birthday, Annagrace!

Our Precious Annagrace turned four on October the 2nd. We had a good time celebrating with her at home and taking her to a fall carnival at her Grandad and Grandmother's church. She dressed up as Strawberry Shortcake since that was the theme of her party. The fall flowers were for her.

October 2nd Finally Arrived!

Annagrace just turned three on October the second. She has been waiting and waiting ever since Lauren and Gabriel had their big party last spring. When they had a party at Inflatable Zone she started asking when it would be her birthday. We told her that her birthday is October the second. She memorized that date and has been reminding us for months now. So, the anticipation was high and it was very exciting to see her revel in the joy of her big day. It blows my mind that she is already three. It seems like I just had her. Annagrace has a very sweet way about her and displays compassion towards others. We are incredibly blessed to have her in our family.

Last Thursday night we took Annagrace for a haircut. She was so excited! We had to leave and come back in half an hour, and you would have thought her world had collapsed. She was so excited to get all prettied up. When we returned she sat in the chair with a straight face the whole time. It was hysterical how serious she was about it. Afterwards the hair dresser braided a strand and put a pretty purple bow in it. I think Annagrace felt very pretty, but her favorite part of all was the lollipop she was given at the end.

Little Mama in Training

We gave Annagrace this doll when she came to meet her new baby sister in the hospital. She was ecstatic over it. She loves to feed her doll and take care of it. I am happy to see that God given, motherly instinct showing up in her at such an early age. I want to encourage her loving, nurturing side and affirm her in her femininity. I want Annagrace to grow up knowing that being a godly wife and mother is a very high calling. I want her to know that running a home and training the hearts of her children is a job with eternal benefits.
